9/5/2023 Lake Macbride State Park by Alfred_M_N

6/22/2023 Palisades-Kepler State Park by Kimberly_R
review rating - 1 to 5 stars Great-despite unexpected lawnmower - Such a lovely park with beautiful trails. Camp manager was lovely. The bathroom and showers were well maintained and very clean Enjoyed our stay so much. The only negative was our last morning when they started lawn mowing the campground at 830 am. The grass didn't need mowing at all but beside the point. I get that it needs to be done. The lawnmower operator came within a couple feet of us sitting outside and kicked up all kinds of dirt and dust. We went inside to close up our RV. He continued to mow the same exact circle on our site over and over and over which kicked up all kinds of dust. It would have been nice to have a heads up and maybe only mow when needed. There was zero difference after mowing except all the dust he left behind. Despite that we will visit again and watch out for this guy. Ha Really a lovely campground
8/11/2022 White Pine Hollow State Forest by Duane_S
review rating - 1 to 5 stars Not a State Park - This is not a state park. It is a state preserve. Just an FYI for anyone thinking it is a park. It is a very rugged preserve of natural land no outhouses or park facilities.
5/13/2021 Geode State Park by Diane
review rating - 1 to 5 stars Lake Geode - Ok to canoe or kayak 5/12/21
review rating - 1 to 5 stars Wilderness in the big city - We loved it. One trail was a bit hard to find....you need to cross the ravine it is dry and there are 2 concrete pipes you need to cross...this is well before the huge staircase.....You feel like you are in a large wilderness. We will definitely go back. Beautiful....we really enjoyed the fall colors.
review rating - 1 to 5 stars - Have lived in the area for many years and have been pleased to watch it evolve to what it is today. Unfortunately, on my recent visit August 9, 2020, the garbage was unbelievable. Spilling out of the cans and scattered all over both front shelters - grounds and tables. In this time of covid and distancing, I was meeting a friend there and bringing coffee to be outside and social distance. It was very disappointing and unfortunate. Hoping this was an isolated incident and has been cleaned up.

review rating - 1 to 5 stars Great Fishing and hunting - A friend of mine and I went fishing on the lake and had very good luck. We stayed 4 nights. The Park Ranger was an excellent source of information about where to fish and what bait to use. He was very friendly and accommodating. We also wanted to do a little squirrel hunting and he directed us to a nearby open area and recommended a likely spot. Again we had good luck. Having the Park Ranger as a resource at Three Fires Lake made the trip for us.

6/25/2017 Viking Lake State Park by Bearded And Hooked
review rating - 1 to 5 stars One of the best - First, Bearded and Hooked would like to thank Viking Lake State Park for hosting us this weekend. You guys were awesome. We have camped at MANY campgrounds across the U.S. over the years, and Viking Lake State Park is one of the best! The grounds are well taken care of, the tent site areas are clean of rocks, and sticks. The bathrooms and showers are the best I have seen in a state park. And DNR does a fantastic job taking care of any issues, questions, and keeping everyone safe. They do more than most that I have seen. We will most definitely be coming back and encouraging others to make a reservation there. Thank you for the awesome experience
