GRAND HAVEN STATE PARK
Grand Haven State Park is a 48-acre park with the beautiful sandy shore of Lake Michigan along the west side of the park and the Grand River along the north side of the park. The park consists entirely of beach sand and provides scenic views of Lake Michigan and the Grand Haven pier and lighthouse.

The sandy beach provides excllent sunbathing and swimming opportunities.
The sandy beach provides an excllent area to picnic, sunbathe or swim.
There is no launch site, but one is located nearby on Harbor Island which provides access to the Grand River and Lake Michigan. The pier in the park provides excellent shore fishing.

Although the park is closed in the winter, foot traffic to view the shoreline ice, lighthouse pier and sunsets is encouraged.
While there are no established trails, the park is open during winter months for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking.
The world's largest Musical Fountain is located nearby, with nightly performances through the summer months. The Harbor Trolley travels throughout the Tri-Cities area and is a fun way to get to the various shops and restaurants in the area. From the last weekend in July through the first full weekend in August, the Coast Guard Festival is held. For festival information phone: 616-846-5940. The Gillette Visitor Center, located at P. J. Hoffmaster State Park, is a twelve mile drive from Grand Haven.
Metal Detecting Areas:
Metal detecting is recognized as a legitimate recreation activity when it is conducted in ways that do not damage the natural and cultural resources in Michigan State Parks nor violate applicable state statues. The entire park is open to this activity, however, any items found must be reviewed by park staff and may be retained for further investigation.
Wireless Internet Access:
MiWiFi provides wireless Internet access in the day-use area of this park. The access point is located near the concessions area and radiates about 150 feet from this location in all directions.
