Dear Rangers, this is a complaint. Your Ranger closed the entrance to park midday for no apparent reason. We had family in the park and no way to reach them for the weak cell signal. Later I learned it was due to a 100 full parking lot.
Please post a sign regarding the temporary entrance closure instead of leaving patrons guessing. I was next in line at the spur when the Ranger blocked the road with no communication other than to motion- drive on.
A simple sign explaining the temporary closure would alleviate the frustration. I suggest, Lot Full Try Again. This would be a simple courtesy. There is a lack of decorum in society and our state parks dont need to be a part of it. Thank you in advance. Tim

I have been here twice - in 1988 & 2009 - never disappoints. Great beach and views of the lake. People are great in the area. i have lived in rockford my whole life and its a quick get away that only takes 45 minutes to get to. it feels like a totally different experience every time we visit and my family loves the beach. its a great way to just get away from the stresses of life and work. I have been going to Grand Haven for over 30 years now and I hope to go for 30 more. I love walking the pier from one end to the other and walk through the down town shops. When we started camping there the kids were young and now they are taking their young child. I love Grand Haven!! We had a great time for a spur of the moment trip. There is plenty of benches to sit on if you tire during a walk. The peir was wonderful and I cant wait to plan a trip and be more prepared to go and spend more time
