History of the Area
The park was established to preserve a unique ecosystem and provide recreational opportunities. It spans 38 acres of land with various wildlife species and diverse vegetation.

The area's history dates back thousands of years when Native American tribes inhabited it. European settlers arrived later, adding their own layer to its rich cultural heritage.

In 1972, the state acquired this piece of land for public use as part of an initiative by Governor David Hall's administration.

Since then, it has been developed into a popular destination offering camping facilities along with hiking trails that wind through picturesque landscapes.

It is also known for fishing due to Honey Creek running through it which attracts anglers from all over the region.

Visitors can explore historical sites within its boundaries while enjoying outdoor activities like bird watching or picnicking under towering trees.

Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. There is access to Grand Lake, which provides opportunities for sailing and motorized boating. The lake also has several boat ramps available for use. Additionally, fishing boats can be rented on-site at the marina where you'll find all necessary equipment as well as fuel services provided.
Fishing
Anglers can enjoy fishing in the creek and lake, targeting species like largemouth bass, catfish, crappie and sunfish. Fishing docks are available for use. A valid Oklahoma fishing license is required to fish here.
