Set in the rolling hills of Middle Tennessee, 1,140-acre Henry Horton State Park is located on the former estate of the late Henry H. Horton, 36th governor of Tennessee. Located on the shores of the historic Duck River, the park provides hours of recreational enjoyment for the day or a weekend getaway in picturesque, pastoral Middle Tennessee.

The Buford Ellington 18-hole, par 72, championship golf course at Henry Horton State Park is one of the finest courses in the state of Tennessee. It is the home of the Annual Tennessee State High School Championship and was host tothe 1978 National Junior Collegiate Championship. The course measures 5,625 yards from the Ladies Forward tees and 7,020 yards from the Men?s Championship tees.
This challenging course is heavily treed with hardwoods, contains 37 bunkers and larger than average greens . Two holes of distinction are #10 and #14. The Signature and number one handicap hole, #10 is a Par 4, 461- yard uphill dogleg left with the green guarded by a bunker on the right. Number 14 is a 259 yards Par 3, one of the longest par threes in Tennessee.
Although the length may scare some golfers away, the fairways are generous in width and the greens larger than average. There are three sets of tees to accommodate every skill level and a friendly staff waiting to insure an enjoyable round of golf.

Tee Time Policy: Tee times required 7 days a week. Reservations are taken 6 days in advance.

Henry Horton?s Buford Ellington Golf Course is located on U. S. Highway 31A. From Nashville travel south on I-65, follow signage to State Park. The golf course is located approximately 45 minutes from downtown Nashville.
Henry Horton State Park provides 75 campsites situated along the Duck River, designated a state scenic river. Twenty-one sites are primitive camp sites recommended for tents only. There is a large group site for primitive camping. The other 54 sites have tables, grills, water spigots and electrical hook-ups. Campers are served by two modern bathhouses and a dump station for self-contained trailer rigs.
All campsites are available on a first come-first served basis. Campers can set up on vacant sites and a seasonal camp attendant or Park Ranger will visit to the site to register users, usually in the late afternoon. The stay limit is two weeks.
Horton Inn provides 72 units, including four suites with kitchenettes. Each unit has two double beds. All rooms are carpeted, air-conditioned, and equipped with TV's and phones. The inn is very popular with golfers, vacationing families, conferences, and small conventions. The inn also provides a free continental breakfast daily.
