Boating
Boating enthusiasts can enjoy the Missouri River, which borders the park. While there isn't a boat ramp within the park itself, visitors have access to nearby ramps in Mandan and Bismarck for launching their boats into this river. Canoe rentals are also available on-site during summer months for those who prefer smaller watercrafts or wish to explore at a slower pace.
Fishing
You can enjoy fishing in the Heart River, where you'll find species like Northern Pike and Walleye. There's also a chance to catch Catfish or Sauger. The park provides boat ramps for easy water access. Ice fishing is popular during winter months too.

Location
Fort Lincoln State Park is located near Bismarck, Mandan

Picnicking
Fort Lincoln State Park offers picnic shelters, grills and tables. Enjoy scenic views of the Missouri River while you eat.
Bicycling
Biking enthusiasts can explore 6.75 miles of multi-use trails suitable for all skill levels in this park.

The terrain varies from flat prairie to challenging hills, offering a diverse experience.

Mountain bikers should be cautious as some areas are steep and rocky.

Remember that these paths are shared with hikers; always yield the right-of-way respectfully.

During winter months, biking may become difficult due to snowfall or icy conditions on the trail surfaces.

Always wear safety gear like helmets while riding bikes within park boundaries for protection against potential accidents.

Check local weather forecasts before planning your bike ride since sudden changes could make cycling hazardous.

Keep an eye out for wildlife crossing tracks unexpectedly which might pose risks if not careful enough.

It's important to stay hydrated during summer rides when temperatures can soar high causing exhaustion quickly.

Birding
Birdwatchers can enjoy spotting a variety of species, including migratory birds. The park's diverse habitats attract different bird types throughout the year. There are trails specifically designed for birding enthusiasts to explore and observe these creatures in their natural environment.

park review stars; one to five It has been many years since I have been to this great place but it has always been a favorite for both my family and me.The Mandan village as well as the old forts (both infantry and the cavalry ) are way cool! The scenery and the general feel of the place leaves no doubt that you are in the west.I do hope to visit again soon.
