WAYFARERS STATE PARK
Wayfarers State Park is a picturesque public recreation area located on the northeastern shore of Flathead Lake in Bigfork, Montana. Spanning approximately 67 acres, this park offers visitors stunning panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountainous terrain.
Opened to the public in 1966, Wayfarers State Park has become known for its beautiful rocky cliffs and mature pine forests that provide ample shade during warm summer months. The main feature includes a short nature trail leading to impressive overlooks where sunsets are particularly breathtaking.
The park caters to both day-use visitors and overnight guests with amenities such as picnic sites, boat access points for anglers or boaters looking to explore Flathead Lake's clear waters, tent camping spots nestled within natural settings without RV hookups but offering basic facilities like restrooms. It serves as an ideal spot for swimming, bird watching (especially ospreys), hiking along scenic trails or simply relaxing by lakeside vistas.
