Camp here often...best park in the area !!
My friends and I wanted to try and ride our bikes from coast to coast in New Jersey, we stopped at this park to use the bathroom and maybe buy some water. The park ranger told us that we had to pay $2.00 each! Thank you....never visit this crap park.
Swimming ,walking and enjoying the Sun.The water is clean and warm, a pleasure to swim in.
My family and I always have fun there.

My dad first came across this lake while fishing with my grandfather over 60 years ago, it was were we went every weekend,there was nothing there but the lake and the beach. then as time went on they added the wooden covering for changing and outside wooden toilets,as the years past things got more modern then when i married started going there when my daughter who is now 51 was only 4months old,it was a great family place to go,and something that we looked forward to everyweek..But then bus loads of people started coming in and it just go over powered. so we stopped going,but myself and my children have alot of good memories and if my parents were still alive they would be happy to know that lake absegami is still going strong and evern more improved then what it was when I started going over 60years ago...looking forward to making a trip there for picnic and letting my ground children no where they went as a child is up and running... my family and i had a lot of fun , we hope to go back soon, atte cardenas family nicolita, tecniquito, ivonne and ivan
SOMETIME WE AS HUMANS FORGET TO STOP AND THINK. THE WEEKEND OF 8/20/11 A 10 YR OLD WAS STUCK WITH A TROUBLE FISHING HOOK ON THE SIDE OF HIS FACE. SOMEONE DID NOT THINK TO GET THE HOOK OUT OF A TREE. IF YOU MUST FISH PLEASE USE CONNECTORS AND REMOVE THE HOOKS WHEN NOT IN USE..
THIS WEEKEND WAS MY FIRST EXPERIENCE IN CAMPING AND AT THE YOUNG AGE OF 60 I FOUND THE SERIENTY VERY WELL NEEDED. HOWEVER, THE BATHROOMS NEEDS TO BE CLEANED AT LEAST 4 TIMES A DAY.. We like this camping ground very much, but the toilet facilities was very dirty. I think they need to be cleaned 3 times a day. We have been going for 3 yrs now and we have more fun each time. Love you guys! I have many fond memories of the many summers spent camping at Bass River. I still camp there and visit regularly. I just find the lake,trails,and tranquility, just what a city guy needs to refuel/ i took my son here so we can bond a little and we had the best time of our life the lake and the picnic area was beautiful. My son wanted to know when we were coming back even before we left .... i love the place. i have been going since i was 5 and now i have my two little ones. Our outing to Bass River was the first as a family and we had a terrific time. In fact, a woman captured our fishing on the lake in a water color painting and gave it to me and my son as a rememberance of our trip. The Park Police and State police frequented all areas of the park and do routine patrols all hours of the day and night. Very secure, peaceful and overall a nice experience. We were the only ones in the park for a few days until the temp warmed up and other families began to show up. We went during spring break 2010 Last year was our first ever camping adventure. Kids loved it! We are going to do it again this year. great memories here. perfect place. this place is awesome. the water is so clean. it waas my first time going and i cant wait to go back. When I was young we camped at Bass River for two weeks, every other summer for 20 years. I have just re-started that tradition with my family and we just returned from a fabulous weekend trip. The camp sites are nicely spaced and there are multiple bathrooms within walking distance of them all.
We had such a great time this weekend that we have already made reservations for the coming holiday weekends. Park was excellent, sites were big, and local access to everything. Even the showers were warm... Awesome place that I will be going back to in 2 weeks. nice lake i have bin going here four 26 years and still love it Very safe and clean place to take the grandchildren, they love it, We have started a new tradition. Taking the grands then Mom and Dad taking the children Its wonderful. Started going 5 years ago and will keep on going. this is the greatest park i ever took my daughter to she liked it and we think of going there more My family has been going to Bass River on day trips and camping trips since I was young and now I can enjoy taking my kids. It is family oriented and provides fun for all ages! We love it and would highly recommend it to any family looking to have some good quality time.
