Swan Lake State Park is nestled on scenic Swan Lake. Visitors can enjoy swimming area with lifeguard supervision, picnic sites with grills and walking trails. Toilets and changing facilities are also available for use. For large gatherings, a private group shelter (fee charged) equipped with volleyball, horseshoes and a handicapped accessible toilet are available.
Boating
The park offers a public boat launch for easy access to the lake, ideal for both motorized and non-motorized vessels. Canoeing and kayaking are popular activities due to calm waters of the lake. Anglers can enjoy fishing from their boats as well since it's home to several species of fish including bass, perch, pickerel among others. However, boaters should be aware that there is a 10 horsepower limit on outboard motors in order not disturb wildlife or other visitors enjoying quieter pursuits.
Fishing
Enjoy fishing in a serene lake setting, abundant with species like brook trout, largemouth bass and white perch. Other options include ice fishing during winter months. Fishing gear rentals are available for convenience. A valid Maine fishing license is required to fish here.



Picnicking
1. Swan Lake State Park offers numerous picnic tables with lake views.
2. There are grills available for public use at the park.
3. Picnic shelters can be reserved in advance, perfect for large gatherings or events.
4. Visitors can enjoy a lakeside meal on the sandy beach area of the park.
5. The grassy areas provide an ideal spot to lay down a blanket and have a relaxing picnic lunch.

Birding
The park offers various birding opportunities with over 200 species, including waterfowl and songbirds. Birdwatchers can enjoy spotting rare birds such as the Red-breasted Merganser or Bald Eagles. The lake's surroundings provide a habitat for woodland birds like warblers and vireos too.
