Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. It has boat ramps that provide access to the Pocomoke River, ideal for motorized watercrafts and fishing boats. Canoeing and kayaking are also popular activities in this area due to its calm waters surrounded by scenic views. Rentals are available on-site including canoes, single or double kayaks, paddleboards as well as pedal boats which you can use within designated areas only.
Fishing
Located in Maryland, the park offers freshwater fishing opportunities. Anglers can catch largemouth bass, crappie and catfish from its shores or by boat.



Picnicking
1. Shad Landing State Park offers numerous picnic tables and grills for a fun outdoor meal.
2. There are two large pavilions available for group picnics or events.
3. Picnic areas near the water offer beautiful views of Pocomoke River.
4. Each campsite in the park has its own fire ring and picnic table, perfect for camping meals.
5. The Manokin Pavilion can accommodate up to 180 people, ideal for big gatherings or parties with food involved!
6. The Nature Center area also provides several spots suitable for family picnicking amidst lush greenery.

Bicycling
Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of trails, suitable for different skill levels. Be mindful of the terrain.

The park offers paved and unpaved paths; helmets are recommended on all routes to ensure safety.

Mountain biking is allowed but be aware that some areas may have steep inclines or rough surfaces.

Bike rentals aren't available within the premises so remember to bring your own equipment if you plan on cycling.

During peak season, cyclists should anticipate potential congestion as walking traffic increases along shared pathways.

Night-time bicycling isn't permitted due to limited visibility and increased risk factors after sunset.
Birding
Birding enthusiasts can enjoy spotting various species, including warblers and waterfowl. The park offers birdwatcher-friendly trails and picnic areas.
