Looking south toward Florida Peak from Rockhound State Park, near Deming, NM. You can see the Needles Eye Arch just below the clouds on the left horizon. I uploaded the full resolution image in case you want to zoom in on the Original size.

April 15 Wonderful Memories by Wanda_G
My husband and I spent part of our 25th anniversary trip and his birthday in Rockhound State Park many years ago. It was our first but not our last stay in one of the most beautiful and well maintained parks out of the 37states we visited.. I have many wonderful memories of camping there and witnessing the Duck Races in Deming. Thank you for the hospitality and memories.
September 3 Not open to out of state residents.
Drove 126 miles to see one way, and not open to out of state residents.

June 22 Learned so much! by Rita Spiegel
My son and I stayed overnight at Rockhound on the way from Texas to Tucson. The park host, Marilyn, gave us lots of information and advice about the specimens we could look for in the park. Marian, in the Visitors Center answered all our questions. She even suggested a reasonably-priced rock shop to polish up our finds. Rockhound is a unique stop with a great staff and the nicest bathrooms we have seen in a campground!
April 7 have yet to visit here by Sam G.
Hello! In the near future I hope to be traveling through the southwest. On my way to northern Az. May visit the Elephant butte area and hope to visit the Deming area. In the 1980s traveled through and visited a rock shop. Purchased some beautiful green serpentine there which was later lost in a yard sale catastrophe. Hope to spend time collecting here.
