The five-acre Prouty Place State Park is five miles southwest of PA 44 along Long Toe Road. This remote park offers access to hunting, fishing and hiking within the surrounding Susquehannock State Forest.
Fishing
Enjoy fishing in a 4.5-acre lake, home to species like brook trout and largemouth bass. A Pennsylvania license is required.

The park's stream also offers opportunities for anglers with brown trout being the main catch here.

Ice-fishing enthusiasts can try their luck during winter months when conditions are safe enough on the frozen lake surface.

Fishing gear rental services aren't available within this area so remember to bring your own equipment along!



Picnicking
Prouty Place State Park offers a picnic area with tables and grills. No pavilions or shelters are available here.

Susquehannock State Forest: This 262,000-acre state forest offers hiking on a variety of trails including the Susquehannock and Black Forest trail systems, miles of snowmobile trails, and an ATV area located close to Denton Hill and Lyman Run state parks.

Pennsylvania Grand Canyon: Off of US 6 at Ansonia, 20 miles east of Galeton, located in Leonard Harrison and Colton Point State Parks, 570-724-3061.

Pennsylvania Lumber Museum: Along US 6, ten miles west of Galeton, 814-435-2652.

Denton Hill Ski Area: Along US 6, ten miles west of Galeton, 814-435-2115.
