My family is from the sandhills so returning is always a treat for us. My Grandfather actually helped in the planting of this forest. Halsey is a great place for family fun. Tubing the dismal, the fire tower, trail riding.

August 20 Beautiful, Quiet and Remote by AMCEAGLE

Great place to hike and bike. The campsites are nice and was neat to have a pool to swim in too. I suggest a good 4WD car to see the sites on the south end. Also good boating on the dismal river - look that up seperately.
