LAKE WARREN STATE PARK
Picnic facilities, a 200-acre lake and community building are prominent features of this state park. Perhaps the most intriguing aren't manmade, however.
This 440-acre park has a floodplain forest that supports four species of pines, and other large tracts of wetlands and woodlands that are home to a variety of plants and animals.

1. Lake Warren State Park offers a designated swimming area in its 200-acre lake.
2. No lifeguards are present, so swim at your own risk.

5. Picnic tables near the swimming area allow for relaxing breaks between swims or picnicking by the lakeside.
Enjoy fishing in a 200-acre lake, home to catfish, bream and bass. A valid South Carolina license is required. Fishing gear can be rented on-site for convenience. Two boat ramps are available for easy access into the water.

Lake Warren State Park offers numerous picnic tables and shelters, some with grills. It also features a lakeside pavilion for picnicking.
The park offers several biking trails, suitable for all skill levels. Be aware of potential wildlife encounters.
Paved roads are available throughout the area and provide a safer option for less experienced cyclists or families with children.
Off-road cycling is also possible on designated paths but requires caution due to uneven terrain and hidden obstacles.
Cyclists should always wear helmets, follow trail signs, respect nature rules and avoid riding after dark as lighting can be limited.
Bike rentals may not be readily accessible within the vicinity so bringing your own equipment is recommended.
Remember that weather conditions could affect path safety; check forecasts before planning any bike excursions in this location.
Birdwatchers can enjoy spotting various species, including waterfowl and migratory birds. The park offers a bird checklist for enthusiasts.
General Directions: Five miles west of Hampton between SC 363, and US 601 on secondary road 501 (Lake Warren Road).
Driving Directions: Travel on Hwy 601 S. from the town of Hampton for 5 mi., then turn rt onto Lake Warren Rd at the highway sign for Lake Warren State Park. Travel one more mile to arrive at the park's gate on the left side of the road.
