Cumberland Falls, sometimes called the Little Niagara, the Niagara of the South, or the Great Falls, is a large waterfall on the Cumberland River in southeastern Kentucky. Spanning the river at the border of McCreary and Whitley counties, the waterfall is the central feature of Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, which is surrounded by the Daniel Boone National Forest.

Just about 5 miles before reaching the parking lot for Cumberland Falls off of a forest road called Dogslaughter Road. A short hike gets you here and go a little further to get to the Cumberland River.

MESMERIZING !!! My Daddy and I have spent so many hours there , we live in Ohio, Oak Harbor for him. Myself in Amherst. Just listening & observing. Tremendous BEAUTY! The Ladies in the Gift Shop are the BEST! They made us feel as if we were the only one in their shop. Daddy was 82 years young, and the staff were so very patient with him. A true rarity these days with the juvenile workers! Daddy past in January un expectedly...somehow I know he is in such Beauty & loving it just the same! I will return to visit as I am certain I can feel his presence on that tranquil earth..... Somehow no matter our road trips South, the vehicle just seemed to turn right at Exit 25.
November 17 Our favorite place to visit. by Sharon-Ohio
We love staying at the Falls. We try to come down every 3 months to see the moonbow and just relax in the cabin and hike the trails.
April 28 Wild Rapids by Courtney
We had a great time hiking around and the water was wild to watch. The water levels were up so high that it was a raging white water river and the power of the falls was awesome. We are going back when the water level goes back to normal to see it when it is at normal levels in all its true beauty.
