Chattahoochee State Park, located in southeastern Alabama, is a serene natural haven. It features an array of outdoor activities including fishing and boating on its 23-acre lake. The park also offers camping facilities with modern amenities for visitors seeking overnight stays amidst nature's beauty. Its diverse wildlife and scenic trails make it perfect for bird-watching or hiking enthusiasts alike.

History of the Area
Located in southeastern Alabama, this park was established during the Great Depression by Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The CCC built a dam creating a 23-acre lake. It became popular for fishing and boating.

In World War II, it served as an army training ground before returning to public use post-war. In the late 1970s, due to budget constraints and declining visitation rates, its status changed from state park to wildlife management area.

Today managed by Alabama's Department of Conservation & Natural Resources Division of Wildlife & Freshwater Fisheries; it is primarily used for hunting rather than recreational activities.

May 14 A pleasure to be HERE! by Billy Boy
park review stars; one to five We have travelled in our RV for five years, and this was the very first night of our first year - May, 2010. Though this was several years ago, most State Parks do not loose their beauty, history, aura, and popularity! Definitely a family direction.
April 1 most relaxed camp and sites are clean by Gordon and Karen Ewing
park review stars; one to five Kim is doing a great job getting all cleaned up. Most laid back camp we have ever been at. Loved our stay. Thanks Kim and your husband too.
