Bull's Island Recreation Area comprises a portion of a small forested island surrounded by the Delaware River and the Delaware & Raritan Canal. A trail along the towpath of the canal reveals a lowland floodplain forest dominated by sycamore, silver maple and tulip poplar. Several rare plant species are found in this natural area.
Camping is no longer permitted at Bulls Island.
The park offers a boat launch for easy access to the Delaware River, providing opportunities for boating and fishing. Canoeing is also popular due to calm waters and scenic surroundings.
