February 16 Great location for hiking and exploring
My family and I went on a small day trip to the sand dunes, and it was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed both hiking up the large dunes and exploring the prairie scenery around the park. We came in February, and it was perfect temperature-wise around 70 degrees or so. I highly recommend visiting the park, as the scenery alone is wonderful.
June 20 In the Nature but amenities of Home by Royal Ranger
Camped in a group campsite with tents on soft grass in the Broken Wheel Camp Area. 27 people for our Outpost Campout. The camp host and a park ranger stopped by to see if we needed an assistance or needed any firewood. Had running water and an electrical hookup, two picnic tables, a fire pit and several trees provided needed shade. June 17th and about 75 degrees. After trampling on the dunes and finding hidden ponds through the sagebrush and sand, the showers back at the campground were very refreshing. We saw jack rabbits, owls, lizards, horned-toad lizards and heard coyotes at night. Only bad thing was the wet spring brought out mosquitoes almost too much to bear.
July 20 Enjoyed to Star event
Went last week middle of July. Very hot in the afternoon but nice in the eveing. Lots of mosquitoes in the morning near the lake when we went for a hike on the trail to the sand dunes. Saw rabbits and lizards. I enjoyed the Star event they did a very good job.
September 29 Along the Bruneau Dunes! by wagonfullofflowers
A good place to visit and camp! Great facility. This is a fee area so make sure you properly pay on your way in or during your camping fee at night. Thanks!
August 5 Awesome night sky wonders! by Layla
Play on the sand at day and relax under the stars at night. Brilliant masses of star clusters that challenge the mind and awe the senses. Dont miss it!
May 23 Fun
A great park with some great features. The observatory is so much fun and entertaining to see such a clear view of the sky also when we were there, they announced night time scorpian hunting by black light. The park was nice and had enough trees to offer shade and the sand dunes and lake are great to.
