Boating
Visitors can enjoy a variety of boating options. The park features several bodies of water, including Beaver Pond and Catamount Pond where non-motorized boats are allowed for fishing or leisure paddling. Canoe rentals are available at the park during summer months to explore these waters further.
Fishing
Visitors can enjoy fishing in freshwater bodies, home to species like trout, bass and perch. Ice-fishing is popular during winter months. The park's two archery ponds are stocked with rainbow trout annually for a guaranteed catch experience. Catamount Pond offers boat rentals for those who prefer deep-water angling.

Picnicking
1. Bear Brook State Park offers numerous picnic areas with tables and grills.
2. Picnic by the park's ponds for a scenic meal.
3. Rentable pavilions are available for large group picnics.
4. Enjoy your lunch at one of many secluded spots in the woods.
5. The beach area provides an ideal spot to enjoy a waterside picnic.

Bicycling
Exercise caution when biking on over 40 miles of trails, suitable for varying skill levels.

The park offers a mix of single-track and double-track paths.

Some routes are shared with hikers or horseback riders; be mindful to yield appropriately.

Many bikers enjoy the challenging terrain found in Carr Ridge Trail's steep inclines and rocky sections.

For beginners, Broken Boulder Path provides less strenuous cycling options amidst serene forest settings.

Always wear helmets as some areas have loose gravel which can cause slips or falls.

Bike rentals aren't available within the area so bring your own equipment if planning to cycle here.

Check trail conditions before setting out due to possible muddy spots after rainfalls that could make riding difficult.

Remember: it is important not only for safety but also preservation reasons - stick strictly to marked bike trails!
Birding
The park offers a variety of birding options with over 100 species to spot. Birdwatchers can explore diverse habitats including marshes, forests and ponds. The area is home to birds like warblers, woodpeckers and herons among others.
